On November 8th, 2011, Golden Glen Creamery of Bow, WA  voluntarily recalled it’s Raw Cheddar Cheese because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.


FDA Issues a Warning about Raw Oysters

On September 26th, 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to consumers not to eat raw oysters harvested from an area of Hood Canal in Washington State following an outbreak of illness in that state caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria.


Papayas Recalled due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

On July 23rd, 2011, Agromod Produce, Inc. of McAllen, Texas recalled all of their Papayas, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious, and sometimes fatal, infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
